INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA


-           Ivo Andrić, who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1961, was born in Bosnia (Travnik).

-          Vladimir Prelog, who received the 1975 Nobel Prize in chemistry, was born in Sarajevo.

-          Karl Malden – actor, Oscar winner, and the former president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. His family originates from Bosnia (Bileća).

-          Sarajevo, the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina, hosted the 1984 Winter Olympics.

-          Sarajevo was the first city in Europe with a full-time electric tram.

-          There are three official languages which are all really the same.

-          It has one of the last remaining jungles in Europe at Perućica.
